"And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake [it], and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me."
"After the same manner also [he took] the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink [it], in remembrance of me."Tonight was the Thanksgiving & communion service at my church. It was very different from any other communion service i've been too. i've seen two other kinds of communion services: Where it's tacked on to the end of a regular service, and doesn't seem very important. Or where its all very solemn and somber.
This one was different. Where others focus on how holy we should be, this one focused on how we're not holy, and God chose to save us anyway. Several people gave testimonies, and the praise band lead us in several songs. That was really cool, most communion services i've been to didn't include music. It was a serious service, but more joyful, more thankful than i've seen before. i really liked it.
