The Sing His Praises Home school Choir started Friday. The first thing we did was a placement test. We had to sing scales and read music and stuff like that. Being the genius i am, i decided to go to an amusement park the day before. i spent all day riding roller coasters, screaming, laughing and talking. Yea... not smart. The morning of the test i could barely talk, much less sing. i think that was the worst I've ever sung. Ever. Miss Krista is pretty awesome tho, she thought it was funny. We didn't really do much as a group Friday, it was mostly auditions for the higher level choir and the placement tests. I'm excited to get our music next week, i can't wait to see what miss Krista has planned for this year!
I'm pretty excited about choir this year. i know it will be very different from last year, but that's what i want!! i want a completely different experience. So, here are my goals for choir this year:
- Learn to read music.
- Sing at every practice and concert. (i tend to just mouth the words...)
- Talk to every kid in choir at least once.
- Spend time with my friends.
- Be on time every week.
- Don't skip theory...unless its a really good reason. like i'm bored, or if my friends skip too :p
- Try out for a solo. (i don't want a solo, i just want to try out for one)
What about you? Have you ever been in a choir? What did you love/hate about it?
