i've been criticized for liking such a 'teen' artist. i do like Taylor Swift's music, but i don't think its the best. i don’t think Taylor Swift is ‘the best singer’ or or will ever get a bigger fan base than she has right now. She's young, and she's peaked in her career far too soon. i think she will be popular for a few more years, but she won't ever be as popular as she was a year ago. Taylor is only a few months older than me, so a lot of her music has grown with me as i've grown. i can relate to it (sometimes). But i don't love her as much as i used to, and i think a lot of her fans are prolly like me, we liked her at 16 when she started, but now we're older. Also, all she ever writes about is boys. Yea girls spend a lot of time thinking about boys but really? Out of 14 songs on her new cd all but two (maybe three, depending on how you look at it) are about boys. Really? i would love some songs about friends, school, or life in general. Not just about boys.
There is one thing about this CD that really bugs me. In an interview after Taylor Swift's debut album was released she said she hope that she doesn't eve put out a cd that is "my persona album'. And yet she' quoted as saying Speak Now is a musical diary of the last two years.... Explain to me how these two statements line up together? A diary is pretty personal... Sorry, that just really bugs me.
Overall, i like this album. Not the best, but it has some really cute songs. Worth the $11 i paid at Wal-mart, but not worth much more than $15, imo.
Here's the track list for Speak Now:
Mine
Sparks Fly
Back To December
Speak Now
Dear John
Mean
The Story Of Us
Never Grow Up
Enchanted
Better Than Revenge
Innocent
Haunted
Last Kiss
Long Live
